While working at KODAK as an Engineering Tech this native Californian decided to follow his artistic passions and further his education and study Film Making. He learned most aspects of production but focused his skills in Linear/Non-linear Editing and Cinematography at the Academy of Art University here in San Francisco, graduating with honors. There Larry spent many hours working the flatbeds with 16mm and 35mm stock, and behind the keyboard learning AVID and FCP. He also studied more than just cutting footage, Larry learned to shoot it too, investing long hours operating 3-chip cameras, Betacam and Mini DV, as well as shooting, what felt like, miles of film.
Now Larry is the Senior editor for Imaginative Productions, a growing production company, well on its way to make a name for itself. It is run by the wonderfully talented, Instrument Coach, Shari Carlson and the promising writer and screenplay author, Tonya Foster.
Prior to working for Imaginative Productions, Larry greatly enjoyed working for Bob Aucone and Forum for Democracy (Freedoms Forum). He was able to travel to our nations capital and shoot interviews with presidential hopefuls, senators, congressmen and heads of organizations such as Americorp, Youth Service America and Freepress.
For two consecutive years Larry had the privilege to be video department head at Long Lake Camp for the Arts in upstate New York. Here Larry and his staff shot and edited over 33 live performances and many other short video projects each summer. In this role, he was able to be a mentor to the youth and help to inspire them in realizing their ideas and produce them to video.
